UgForOne was born out of a deep observation of Ugandan society and culture — the way communities come together in moments of crisis, the way neighbours show up for each other, the way friends chip in for a friend in need.
Our founder, Johnie Niwamanya, noticed something inspiring: whenever someone in Uganda needed help, people responded. Whether it was a church fundraiser, a workplace collection, or a roadside collection for an accident victim — ordinary Ugandans consistently showed extraordinary compassion.
But this giving was often limited by geography, awareness, and reach. A family in Kasese couldn't easily access donors in Kampala. A student in Gulu couldn't reach well-wishers abroad. The spirit was always there — the platform was not.

That question became UgForOne — Uganda's first dedicated crowdfunding platform, built to bring people together across distance, to make generosity easy, and to ensure that every shilling given reaches where it's meant to go.
